Sabato mio...

I feel like I have been on Spanish over-load lately trying to get it back in my head. I miss speaking Italian. Aren't Saturdays just awesome? I think so. Allora, buon' Sabato a tutti!

Mi sento bene oggi
Non ci sono problemi
Perche'? Perche oggi e' sabato
Me ne vado, non ce' la faccio piu' di starmi qui in questa stanza
Gioco a calcio? Come no?
Perche'? Perche' oggi e' sabato
Leggo, faccio un pranzo, lo faccio da solo
Vieni subito e lo mangiamo insieme
Lasciame stare, oggi e' sabato
Qualcuno sta cantando fuori di qui
Mia ventana e' aperta
Il sole
E' tornato, quello di una volta
Per Sabato e' tornato
C'era una volta
Come si chiamava?
Sabato
Ti voglio un mare di bene, Sabato mio.

Living Prophets assignment

This semester I'm taking a class called Teachings of the Living Prophets. I am really enjoying it. We had an assignment to choose 5 talks given by the current President of the Church, and then to write a short response to each. This talk was incredible. It was printed in the Church's magazine The Ensign, back in 1991. The title of the discourse is Precious children-A gift from God (click to see)  The other talks I read were Patience-A Heavenly Virtue, Be of Good Cheer, The Mighty Strength of the Relief Society, and The Bridge Builder.  All of them were definitely good, but the one on learning from children, I especially loved! This class is obviously super intense because it's Spring, but I'm seriously loving it! I feel like I will have a different experience  listening to General Conference in April, having studied the lives and teachings of these men, in an actual class...

And now a word from my nieces and nephews :)
This video is sooooo sweet! My two nieces Callista and Berkley. I love them so much!
This I just put on here because my nephew Mark has some great dance moves. My favorite is the hand on the booty all the time. (So does my father. Unfortunately he's just starting to get warmed up right as I turn it off! haha!)

HOLLA 2 my MAMMA

This is my mom. I am soooooo lucky to have had such an angel of a woman, to be my mother. I was taught manners and etiquette. She is a woman of high class! My mom taught me to be a lady, even though I loved playing sports. I will always remember my mom for her love of bright red lipstick, her complete selflessness,  her amazing organization skills, and always being home every day when I got home from school. I want to be there when my kids walk in the door, and there to give my man a kiss when he comes home from work, just like she did.
My favorite memories of my mom are many! I loved playing a game we called "cash register" where I got to "buy"my breakfast, going shopping, getting (sugary) "birthday cereal" on my birthday, always saying to her "Mom, you're the best mom in the whole world and I love you!" every night,  and her Sunday night milkshakes followed by Sunday night Tickle Torture competitions...
My mom would drive 10 hours to go visit her Mother when she was sick, spend a few hours with her, and turn around the next day only to drive 10 hours back. She has served others every day of her life. My mom always helped me with homework, and has continued to be a strength to me in my life.
My mom is the most Christ-like person I have ever met in my life. She loves to think about others, and serve them in whatever way she can. She is famous for her Franklin Planners, which are bulging with plans of ways she can help other people. My mom colors her own hair. That's legit. She gardens, plants flowers, and does yard-work like it's no body's business.
It was common for the "bedroom fairy"to stop by. What a sweetheart!! I would also regularly find notes on my napkins in my lunch, just to say how much she loved me. And I always had the coveted lunch.
Something that really touched me was the fact that I received notes from my mom almost every week of my entire mission (18 months).  Often the notes would just be a thought, a scripture, or something that would make me laugh. She ended every note with the words "CARRY ON!!! XOXOXO" It was something that kept me going week to week. She is the most thoughtful person I have ever met!
My mom is my best friend.
I don't know where I would be without this woman. She SERIOUSLY is my inspiration. The ultimate example of a real MOTHER. She has mothered me every day of my life, and continues to do so now. I love her, and am so grateful for her love, service, and lifetime of charity. THANKS TO THE BEST MOM IN THE WHOLE WORLD, AND I LOVE YOU!!!!!!
