MO MILLA update. Finals have stolen me from blogging

Dude. Sorry peeps that it has been soooo long since I have posted last! School has been consuming my every second ( as it should be right now) but I have gotten pretty behind with my postings!!! So here is an update of the last month or so, and SIGNIFICANT HAPPENINGS that have occured:

1. I played the WII for the first time in my life!!!! (WII TENNIS=BOMB!!!!)
2. "BLG Boys and Co."  make it to the top 8 in BYU Co-Ed Intermurals Soccer
After destroying the Lanaihilators 8-0, and many other teams, we finally lost, only two games short of the T-shirt :( It was a sad day for all of us, but we had some good times on the field. Including one time when we had a game right after football practice and I was surrounded by like 300 football players (aka I was in heaven)

3. EASTER BBQ @ Derald's
It is so fun to be so close to my brother Derald! He boug
ht an adorable little house last summer, just like 2 blocks from me. It was really fun to all be together as a little CO. crew, and enjoy some good times together on Easter. I love him so much, and I'm so glad we've got to be as close as we are now!

4. ESPANOLANDIA
BYU does a foreign language fair every year for the local High Schools. Me and my two friends DaniBree and Betsy worked at the "recuerdos" stand, where we sold keychains, burros,  little wooden toys, and little sombreros. The kids had to speak in spanish the whole time, and if they didn't we had to call the "policia" on them! haha it was very entertaining, and the thought of teaching became very real. It made me realize how limited high school kids really are in there SPanish abilities. It made me realize that all the classes Im in now, are totally above the level I would ever teach. Anyways, it was super entertaining to talk to them in their broken, horrible spanish, haha, it made me feel a lot better about my speaking abilities. PLUS, I gota 93% on my spanish Oral, meaning I was in the Intermediate-Advanced level of fluency. That made me pretty happy, and feel like I am still progressing! :)
Me and DB modeling the little "sombreritos" we sold. keep in mind we were there at 7 am, that explains how hot I look..

5. SNOW BLIZZARD in APRIL??!?!!! Welcome to Provo, UT. Well, I'm peacing out. Hello EUROPE!!!!!!

6. I gave in to the WWW again. I am now a TWITTER-er (ummmm. TWEET ME/ follow me? I think is the technical lingo...)
There has recently been a new buzz going around, or maybe I should say there have been many "tweets" lately, about this new Twitter Nation frenzy! I first heard about it from an anti-facebooker/Twitter lover, and I didn't even get it. Then I forgot about it and was watching OPRAH, and they did a whole show on it of which I was intrigued by!! Mainly the whole chase to 1 million between Ashton and CNN, but I gave in to another WWW time- consumer, and it hasn't really sink in yet. I'm still trying to figure it all out, but I think I have like 15 people I'm following...WOOO. kind of a big deal!!!!

7. I LEAVE FOR SPAIN in 8 DAYS!!!!!!
I have been just goign crazy with finals, and I don't think it has really sunk in yet, that in almost one week I will be on a Study abroad in Spain!!!! I am seriously sooooooo excited!!!! It is going to be an incredible experience!! My first time to Europe, and my first Study Abroad!!! I have been writing my buddy Elder Gordon who is serving in Spain, and it has been so fun hearing all about what I have to look forward to. I find myself up late at night "googling" images of Madrid, just dreaming, but in just 8 days it will be a reality!!! YAYAAAAAAAAA!!!!! CAN't WAIT!!!!!!

saying goodbyes :(

I love these girls so much!! I don't know where I would be without them!! 3 OH 3 Fo EVA!! :)
Leslie's Birthday! 23 --I love her so much!!!

I have lived at Lanai almost two years and I have seriously LOVED IT. It has been the most amazing ward with some of the coolest people I have ever met! I have made amazing friendships!!!Good thing I will be back at the end of the summer to spend July and August with Lanai :) Summers here are great!

A "problem" or simply a "reality?"

I feel like we live in an age where people really don't know how to solve problems, or at least they look at difficult situations and view them as a problem. The truth is, is that some things we simply need to accept as realities. They are realities that are done, over, and unchangeable. The problems we face, will always have a solution. For example, a kid and their mom are making a cake for their cousin's birthday. The child accidently drops the birthday cake on the floor. By the mom yelling at the child, that is not going to fix the "problem." What is the problem in this situation? The yelling at the child is not solving the problem. By yelling, the cake will not magically re-make itself, and raise up off the floor. Do you get what Im saying with this? The problem--is that now there is not a cake to take to the cousin's birthday--and there is indeed a solution to that problem! Fix the cake on the floor, or just make a new cake!
What I am getting at with this is that there is simply a way of problem solving that changes your perspective when you look at problems this way. We identify a problem, and it's solution. When something is un-changeable, it is simply a reality we have to accept.
We apply to grad schools and don't get in to any of our top choice schools. What is the problem, and what is the reality? The problem is not that we didn't get in. That is a reality. We cannot change the initial fact that we weren't accepted. The problem is that whatever pre-requisites were needed to get into the certain schools, were not met, and certain things need to change in order to fix the problem.
I also think that we live in a world that is a "quick-fix"  society. We don't want to take the necessary efforts in order to truly get to the root of problems. It takes a lot of situational analysis in order to figure out where we have gone wrong in our doings. A lot of times we have to change more than one behavior or attitude in order to fix things.

One of my Finer Moments... Happy April Fools Day.

Well, today my gullible side got the best of me... And so did whoever pulled this ingenious April Fool's Joke. Because...you fooled me!!! Idid exactly what they wanted me to.
I woke up just like any other day, well aware of it being April 1st. In fact, just yesterday I had helped my friend plan out a prank they were going to do on some guys we know. Anyways, so I wake up and rush out the door, late for class as always. However; (as always) I forgot something, today it was my phone, so I had to run back inside and grab it. As I'm locking the door, I find a "legitimate" note, taped on the door of apartment H-4. The note looked a little something like this: (well, it looked EXACTLY like this...)

So for a moment I asked myself the question, "new shelving?.... Racking? What the Heck is racking?? Really? That's weird. oh well. Better go empty my entire closet anyways." And then that moment was over, and I rushed back inside and started emptying my closet onto my bed. And if anyone that knows me (you don't even have to know me "well," reads this post, you will know that Monica Miller has A LOT of clothes!!!  After about three minutes of emptyage, my closet was bare. Snowboarding equipment, shoes, clothes, random stuff, you name it, engulfed my bed. I even thought to tell my roommates of this important news, but I figured they too would see the signs. If I might add, there were these fliers posted ALL OVER. I'm talking on all of the doors, and even like randomly on the rails of the stairwell. This too struck me as odd for a split second, but that didn't stop me from obeying their strict instruction! I mean, the last thing in the world I would want would be to cause the installers anything but a quick," efficient, and smooth installation"!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?!? hahahaha below is my closet..
and this was my bed, after the dump.
So really, nothing even occurred to me that this might not be legit until I came home from class about 4 hours later, and began to notice that all of the fliers were gone... As I was walking up the stairs I started laughing to myself and realizing what a complete idiot I had been just a few short hours ago. I was the sucker who fell for it. If no one else fell for their sick little prank, it was worth it to them just to know they got ONE. And now I confess, I was the one. I wont lie, I definately checked in my other room-mates room's to see if they fell victim to it. I am just going to keep telling myself that someone else fell victim to the illigitimate letter, and went and took them all down before anyone else fell for it! Well gee, thanks a lot to whoever took them down after 8:30 am!
Despite my stupidity, I will say that it was a prank I give props to whoever thought of it. Although I'm a pretty gullible person, this prank was well planned, and definitely believable. If I find out who did this, I will congratulate them. MO MILLA got PUNK'D!!! hahaha seriously though, good job. and because I just said PUNK'D, and Ashton is hott, I will put a pic of him up too.
